Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)

Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is a type of vitamin D that is made in the skin. It is important for strong bones and teeth, because it helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus from food. Vitamin D3 can also be found in some foods, including fatty fish and fortified milk products. It is often called the “sunshine vitamin” because it can be made by humans when ultraviolet rays from sunlight strike the skin. However, many people do not get the recommended amount of vitamin D3 from sunlight.
